Our Process

At the heart of everything we do is a deep love for the art of jewelry making. We believe that even the smallest charm or connector deserves thoughtful craftsmanship, and we take pride in the hands-on work that goes into each of our components. Whether it’s cast in pewter or brass, every piece in our collection is made with care, creativity, and attention to detail.

Many of our original designs begin with a time-honored method called lost wax casting. This ancient technique allows us to capture intricate textures, delicate lines, and rich character in every component. In addition to our own creations, we also curate select pieces from trusted makers—such as replica coins and other unique designs—that blend beautifully with our collection. Perfect for designers & passionate makers who care about quality.

From Wax to Metal: The Lost Wax Casting Method

First, we hand-sculpt the design in wax or use a 3D printed wax model. This step is where our creativity shines - each wax piece is a tiny sculpture brought to life by Lisa, Amanda, or our 3D design team.

Once the wax design is perfected, we encase it in a special material to form a mold. After the mold hardens, it’s heated so the wax melts and flows out, leaving a hollow cavity in the exact shape of the original design.

That mold is then filled with molten lead-free pewter or brass, depending on the final piece. Once cooled and solidified, the mold is broken open to reveal the raw metal component. Each piece is then cleaned, polished, and prepped for plating to enhance its look and durability.

Our Metal Finishes

Once the raw cast charms are ready, we move to plating and finishing. We work only with trusted plating partners we've built strong relationships with over the years, ensuring consistent, high-quality finishes every time.

Antiqued Pewter: This classic finish has a darkened, weathered tone that brings out texture and detail. It’s perfect for vintage or boho styles and pairs beautifully with natural stones and beads.

Satin 18k Gold Plating:  Compared to 14K plating, 18K contains more pure gold, giving it a deeper, more luxurious color. Satin gold pieces go through a special chemical bath that gently alters the surface texture, creating a subtle, elegant sheen that feels refined and contemporary.

Antiqued 18k Gold Plating: Our double-plated antiqued 18K gold has a rich, deep tone with a slightly muted, aged look. The semi-matte end coating enhances the surface, creating that beautiful patina you usually found in old vintage pieces. This finish gives the feel of heirloom jewelry with a gentle glow.

Finally, every piece is inspected in our workshop by hand before being packed and shipped out to you, our customers. Every charm, chain, and connector in our shop goes through this process so you can create pieces that are both beautiful and lasting. We’re proud of the hands and hearts behind every component, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll make with them.
