To open a jump ring, follow these steps:
1. Gather Tools: Use two pairs of pliers, preferably flat-nose or chain-nose pliers.
2. Grip the Ring: Hold the jump ring firmly on either side of the split with the pliers.
3. Twist to Open: Gently twist one side of the ring away from you while twisting the other side towards you. Do NOT pull the ends apart; this can deform the ring.
4. Attach and Close: After attaching your components, reverse the twist to close the ring, ensuring the ends align properly.
This method keeps the ring's shape intact and ensures a secure closure.
